The Senior Combat Designer is responsible for creating, pitching, and implementing core melee combat and action systems. Setting up and refining combat metrics. Working across disciplines to deliver impactful, fun, and creative combat. Iterate, polish and balance player and enemy behaviors. Perfect for the person who dreams about frame-counts, i-frames and key poses. Full ownership of combat from concept to ship.


  • 4+ Years of Game Design experience, 3+ in a melee Combat Design role
  • Experience with scripting languages to setup character behaviors
  • Extreme attention to detail and a passion for triple AAA execution
  • Deep understanding of modern melee/action combat systems and techniques
  • Experienced in rapid prototyping and iterative design
  • Excellent communication, organization, and inter-discipline skills
  • A passion for all things melee combat
  • Shipped 1+ Triple AAA combat games in a combat design role
  • Unreal 4 experience
  • Good understanding of animation
  • Provide examples of combat implementation
