Job Description

As Chief of Staff, you will plan and direct administrative, financial and operational activities for the CEO and AtScale Executive Leadership Team (ELT). As such, we are looking for a seasoned professional to engage with our executive leadership team in the following ways:

  • Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information to facilitate efficient decision making
  • Provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and brainstorming partner 
  • Initiate and lead operational discipline for the Executive Leadership Team
  • Proactively address pressing business issues that need immediate attention
  • Provide independent, informed, unbiased insight including on the ground feedback
  • Manage executive forums including e-staff meetings and strategic offsites
  • Coordinate executive communications (internal and external) with marketing communications team.

The CoS must drive an extreme sense of urgency both individually and within the team, helping to accelerate AtScale’s most critical transformational initiatives.

Requirements will vary as the team matures and executes its mission, so a successful candidate will have a variety of past leadership, technology, program management, operations, and/or metrics-related experience with a flexible nature to ensure proficient execution on priorities.

The role is expected to develop knowledge of AtScale technologies, GTM partnerships, and strategic initiatives, as well as AtScale’s current portfolio, to enable execution of the key strategies defined by the ELT. 

Pivotal responsibilities are (in addition to the above):

Works closely with the ELT to define and execute core strategies for growth; develop new processes to ensure priorities are being accomplished in an agile manner and with high quality

  • Understands the top-level portfolio vision and growth strategy and responsible for clearly and continuously communicating it back to leadership and stakeholders
  • Helps the AtScale team to implement best-in-class operational processes, and supports continuous improvement of all processes, methodologies, and services across the company
  • Assesses organizational and operational risk; proactively identifies risks, communicates risks to appropriate stakeholders and develops a risk mitigation strategy and a contingency plan
  • Works with the AtScale team and Finance to track the P&L against the commit and other financial and growth goals, including supporting preparation for Quarterly Business Reviews, board meetings and critical internal meetings
  • Supports the definition of success metrics; identifies and socializes program/project success metrics to the internal team and to external stakeholders; evaluates progress and results against success metrics

Who You’ll Work With

You will work closely with the CEO, ELT and leadership team, business leads, as well as finance, IT, and people teams.

Qualifications

To ensure success the Chief of Staff will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree, PMP, or equivalent business experience
  • 15+ years in business and team leadership, program management, financial management, operations, and/or consulting in a complex high-tech, multi-regional environment
  • Extreme detail and quality orientation, taking responsibility for success of all aspects of assignments whether they are directly responsible for completion or not
  • The capability to understand a problem or business need, and then define the detailed project path to address the problem area, all while maintaining understanding of the organization’s end-state vision
  • Demonstrated flexibility, can manage multiple and competing priorities, and can work in an extremely fast-paced environment
