Responsible for conducting research to develop the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for treatment planning, assessment, and medical device performance for orthodontic aligner and scanner products. Duties include identifying features and data needed for machine learning solutions; designing and implementing machine learning techniques to improve treatment planning based on historical data; collaborating with other team members and external researchers; documenting and transferring technology to product groups across the company.
Requires Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field plus four years’ experience in machine learning and statistical data analysis or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering with at least two years’ doctoral research in machine learning and statistical data analysis.
Required work experience or academic research background must also include: (1) academic research or commercial experience applying numerical modeling, statistical understanding and/or machine learning to physical systems with noisy data; (2) knowledge of a wide variety of machine learning methods, including Bayesian statistics, classifiers (e.g., SVM, logistic regression, etc.), ensemble methods, regression, clustering, neural networks, deep learning; (3) at least 2 years’ experience or research background using a programming language with strong statistical support, such as R, SAS, Matlab, or Python.
