Al Jazeera Media Network are looking to hire a Senior Audio Producer to join our dynamic Audio Team who produce the digital podcast show "The Take" in Washington DC.
As the Senior Audio Producer you will be tasked with producing an audio-first episode of content as part of the wider Audio team and managing multiple podcast and audio-on-demand projects. This role supports in diversifying and developing talent in audio for the Network. You will be developing new shows and series from conception to air, setting up the necessary production and creative workflows, including video podcasts, and providing quality control on output.
Responsibilities:
- Lead production team
- Manage story and show development
- Revise, edit, and finalize all relevant scripts/productions/commissions
- Run meetings, make assignments, edit scripts and set deadlines
- Ensure alignment with Al Jazeera editorial guidelines and mission.
- Ensure high production and editorial values · Mentoring and staff development
- Work with presenter(s) to define voice and tone of show(s)
- Fill in for Executive Producer as needed.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or digital media or relevant experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in audio/podcast/radio production or digital media.
- At least 7 years’ experience in editorial roles, including 2 years of script editing experience
