ACCO Brands is seeking a talented and dynamic Marketing Assistant for our Mississauga, Ontario location.  As part of the Marketing team, the Marketing Assistant supports the Senior Director of Marketing in the development and execution of marketing plans that will lead to the achievement of both annual and longer-term strategic and financial objectives.


  • Supporting the Marketing team in moving forward the growth agenda of the business units
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual business plan to achieve assigned revenue goals
  • Assist with the development of new products from conception to sell thru. This includes working the creative team to develop artwork and packaging, maintaining product specs, determining the pricing strategy and finalizing product samples with our vendors
  • Assisting with product introductions and management of the product life cycle to optimize the profitability of assigned categories
  • Assist in development of merchandising solutions to drive increased distribution and sales of ACCO products in new and under-developed channels
  • Maintain a strong understanding of target customer, purchase drivers, and emerging trends/ fashion designs
  • Assist in maintaining relevant and in-depth knowledge of competitive environment and market trends, sharing knowledge with Sales to help identify customer opportunities
  • Assist in development of A+ content to accelerate digital marketing metrics and goals
  • Track and analyse POS data and shipments on a regular basis to monitor performance of key lines and propose any product life cycle actions
  • Assist in providing product expertise and training to the Sales and Customer Service teams
  • Assist in the execution of other business unit projects as required


  • Diploma or degree in Commerce, with a specialization in Marketing preferred
  • 1-2 years of Marketing experience considered an asset, ideally with product development experience
  • Strong leadership potential within a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and present in front of large and small groups
  • Strong results orientation – ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Office programs. Intermediate experience with SAP, Illustrator and Photoshop
