Costume and Mascot Performers
Description
The Durham Bulls are seeking energetic, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in joining the most iconic brand in Minor League Baseball and gaining experience in the sports industry. This position will support the promotions department through game day entertainment initiatives to help put on the best show in Minor League Baseball by joining the Mascot Team.
This is a part-time, seasonal, game day position but could include extra events depending on the demand of the characters.
The performing characters include the Blue Monster and the Bull Durham Characters but could expand to other characters throughout the season. The ideal candidate must be energetic, work well with others, and engage fans of all ages.
This position must be able to:
- Maintain the integrity of the character’s personality
- Perform at assigned Durham Bulls home game or specified special events
- Interact and engage with fans including taking photos and signing autographs
- Work with the entertainment and promotions teams to provide entertainment for fans as assigned in the game day script including skits, games and more
Minimum Requirements:
- Preferred Height for Blue Monster is between 5'3" - 5'8".
- Bull Durham Characters can have varying heights.
- Mascot Experience preferred.
- Performance, dance, or acting background is a plus, but not required.
- Must have ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing and able to perform continuously for up to two hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain high performance levels in the costume through varying temperatures.
