The Strategic Sales Manager is responsible for directing the local sales team with digital solutions that both drive client results and digital revenue. Develops and executes digital sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue. Works with Account Executives and clients developing results driven marketing solutions across multiple platforms including linear, digital, and sponsorships. Attends sales calls with Account Executives to develop new accounts and maximize existing accounts. Be an effective educator/trainer both internally and externally on digital solutions and reporting metrics. Manages digital sales support team. Prepares digital budgets and approves related department expenses. Manages Digital inventory and effective pricing. Current knowledge of digital ad technology, online ad serving, Google Analytics, social platforms IAB and/or Google AdWords certification a plus. Proficiency in MS Office products required. Experience with Wide Orbit, Matrix software, and Nielsen are a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities
· Lead the station's efforts in developing new and incremental revenue |
· Training, Coaching, and Mentoring AE's on digital strategy, products, and CNA’s to uncover revenue opportunities |
· Oversee AE performance and hold AE's accountable to digital budgets |
· Reduce Digital Churn |
· Track Digital Margins, Budgets, Digital Inventory |
· Pricing to maximize inventory and achieve budgets |
· Create, develop, and own strategies for generating and achieving digital revenue goals for the market |
· Supports sales staff with ride-along coaching, participating in client meetings, developing proposals, and acting as the subject matter expert on digital solutions |
· Develop strong relationships with local clients, manage key local accounts with your team and ensure top-shelf service is provided to all accounts |
· Help create sponsorships and packages alongside local and national sales managers to ensure there's a digital element in all packages |
· Facilitate role playing trainings with AE's and digital trainings · Help in vetting digital products · Instrumental in creating and developing WRAL digital products that create customers for life Qualifications |
- 5 to 7 years of successful digital sales and account engagement experience with 2 years of team management experience
- Track record of successfully achieving or exceeding sales goals in digital media advertising industry, including OTT, within fast-changing, dynamic environments
- Established leadership skills and demonstrated ability to develop teams with elite sales and customer service skills
- Strategic thinker and disciplined executor comfortable developing and making recommendations to senior management
- Strong presenter and communicator with internal and external customers and partners
- Possess the ability to build an inclusive and positive work culture to foster success for the sales team
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google Analytics, Wide Orbit Sales, Salesforce, Wide Orbit Traffic & Wide Orbit Analytics, ComScore, Matrix, Media Monitors, Tableau, and qualitative data
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure, and able to promptly adapt to changing priorities and goals
- Knowledge of digital products, tactics and applications such as search engine marketing/optimization, audience and search targeting/retargeting, social media management and marketing, display, OTT/CTV, email marketing
