Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking an experienced IT professional to assist with the design, implementation, and management of the platform components of our company. This position requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, security principles, integrations, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This is not an entry level position.

  • Successful candidate will operate strategically and tactically to develop and execute actionable plans for the platform environments.
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain platform security architecture designs and controls for servers (physical & virtual), appliances, storage, etc.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain roadmaps, guidelines, frameworks, and policies in alignment with best practices.
  • Lead by example to mentor junior staff and reinforce good behaviors.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and influence key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest relevant trends and provide expert advice and guidance on their impact on our technologies.
  • Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in performing Proof-of-Concepts, Cost-Benefit, and/or Proof-of-Value to support solution purchase decisions.
  • Partner with network, security, and service desk teams to purposefully design functional security and usability into all projects and processes.
  • Analyze current environment and recommend improvements to monitoring, disaster recovery, optimization, and automation.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills (e.g., Speaking, listening, writing)
Required Qualifications:  
  • Four-year degree in a technical field or two-year degree and relevant certifications. 
  • 5+ years' hands-on experience in platform design, identity/privileged access management, Active Directory, GPO, forest/schema, and Sites & Services. 
  • 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft solutions, servers, PCs. Patch testing & deploy. 
  • 3+ years' experience with Nutanix virtualization. 
  • 3+ years' experience implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery. 
  • Excellent understanding of network architectures, operating systems, email, certificates, cloud computing, and security technologies. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft certifications
  • Nutanix certifications
  • Hands on experience with automation and orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) 
  • PowerShell, Power Automate, Python
  • Hands on experience with Azure, Entra ID, AWS

  • Essential physical requirements include: standing, stooping, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and typing.
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to navigate a data center with raised floors.

  • Primarily working in an office or studio environment. Occasionally working in data center or infrastructure closets.
  • Handling infrastructure, batteries, cabling, etc.
  • Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation including occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
