The role
As part of the Software Engineering Practice and member of the engagement management community, you will be managing one or a portfolio of projects related to Medical Devices business. You will bear the overall responsibility to prepare, plan, execute and manage projects for Life Science customers.
Responsibilities
Delivery

Understand our customers business objectives, the project context and the challenges the engineering team is facing

Manage the project delivery from planning all the way to deployment and closing. Own the project(s) governance and ensure alignment between all stakeholders involved

Ensure deliverables and services are produced in line with our contractual commitments toward our customer: on time, on scope, on quality and on budget.

Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions

Monitor projects profitability and maintain reporting in our internal Project Management tool to ensure accurate forecast
-
Monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects

Ensure team productivity and accuracy of the delivery by ensuring right skill allocation to projects.

Be a key-role model in mentoring, developing our people and be an active member of our project management community
Business growth support

Contribute to the creation of engineering offers and proposal for customers. Identify opportunity for growth with our existing clients

Work closely with our senior clients to build better relationships, manage their expectations, develop and establish new streams of work

Become a leader in establishing the appropriate commercial proposals alongside establishing delivery priorities and plans, managing risks and dependencies

Contribute to our Engineering Practices strategy by bringing market and customer insight to anticipate future area for growth

Work very closely / cross-functionally with R&D teams located in overseas to make sure they handle and deliver engineering services to our end users

Use a variety if recognised methodologies, including Agile, via a number of multi-disciplined, highly skilled teams

Establish methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects
-
Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
Profile
Mandatory
-
5+ years of project management experience on Engineering related projects,
-
Experience working for/with a service company is preferred.
-
Strong delivery skill in overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery.

High adaptability and organization skills to navigate complex organizations, clients and projects (multiple stakeholders, multicultural environment, on-shore / off-shore delivery)
-
Experience working with offshore delivery teams (India, Asia and Europe)

Experience of embedded software related projects
-
Previous experience working in Life Science and/or Medical device industry

Native level of Japanese and Business level of English
Preferred

Programming knowledge or experience (C++, VC++)

Imaging solutions knowledge (DICOM)

New skills for AI, ML, DL, analytics, 5G]

May require a project management certification
