Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) is seeking an experienced, visionary Director of Specialty Medicine to join and guide our diverse team of board-certified specialists. About the Role:
As the Director of Specialty Medicine, you will be the leader of our talented specialty team, ensuring high-quality, consistent care across all specialties. With a two-day clinical schedule and two days dedicated to administrative responsibilities, this role offers the balance many specialists seek as they transition into leadership positions. You will have clinical case responsibility 50% of the time within your own specialty, allowing you to maintain your practice while shaping the future of CCVS.
Responsibilities include:
- Leadership, management, and accountability for the specialty veterinary team
- Ensuring high standards of patient care across specialties
- Specialty recruitment, including attending conferences and recruiting events (15% travel)
- Managing departmental budgets and overseeing specialist compensation
- Maintaining a balance between clinical work and administrative duties, including leadership development and strategic planning

Education & Qualifications:
- Diplomate of an American or European College of Veterinary small animal clinical specialties
- More than 3 years post-residency in clinical small animal practice
- Managerial experience preferred, but we will support a candidate eager to grow into a leadership role
