Human Resources Manager

We are currently looking to add a full time HR Manager to our team. Someone who is equally passionate about serving the community and achieving operational success alongside our dedicated and loyal employees.

Located at our Head Office in Mississauga the HR Manager supports the execution of human resources strategies that deliver on established and future business priorities. The HRM manages and ensures the administration of all HR processes and programs including employee relations, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, training and development and policy and procedure interpretation and application.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic business partnering of the human resources activities for Ontario and Quebec regiona, providing exceptional HR business partner coaching and support to management and employees;
  • Works effectively as part of the HR team. Champions and/or participates in key strategic projects in support of the Company vision, mission, strategy and culture in support of the overall company transformation;
  • Designs effective HR programs to develop and retain employees with the appropriate skills, knowledge and aptitude to meet current and emerging business needs;
  • Provides development and mentorship to the HR team to support employee engagement and succession planning;
  • Establishes key process improvements to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of human resources programs;
  • Provides coaching and development for managers on high-performance leadership skills and engaging people;
  • Provides support to people leaders in the resolution of issues, including conducting investigations, coaching, counseling and recommendations on appropriate actions;
  • Under the guidance of the Director, the HRM will be responsible for the administration, application and interpretation of multiple collective agreements;
  • Plays a key role in the implementation/continuation of national programs and procedures in collaboration with the HR Director.
  • Provides Generalist support to the branch/division on HR matters such as performance management, training & development, employee engagement/retention, onboarding & orientation and employee relations;
  • Models effective communication, management and partnership with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Participates in other initiatives, projects and duties as assigned.

 

 Working Experience and Skills

                      Post-secondary degree with a specialization in Human Resources Management.

  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation is an asset.
  • 5 – 7 years progressive experience in Human Resources or an equivalent  combination of educational and experience
  • Experience with a unionized environment and labor relations is an asset
  • Superior human resources and business acumen, combined with proven strategic, ethical and tactical reasoning skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to influence and  be assertive when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Leads by example and provides consistent coaching and mentorship to HR team
  • Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo
  • Successfully pass a background check
