                           OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

We are currently looking to add a full-time Distribution Centre Operation Supervisor to our Distribution Centre in Delta, British Columbia. Someone who is equally passionate about serving the community and achieving operational success alongside our dedicated and loyal employees.

DC Operation Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of warehouse operations, administration, and finance, to effectively implement logistics services to customers and to ensure that all activities are accurately recorded in the company’s warehouse management system; customer service, productivity, and financial targets are being met, and contribute to the growth of the company.

 
Responsibilities:

 

  • Coach and develop warehouse staff
  • Monitor staff to ensure procedural accuracy and policy compliance
  • Administer first level discipline for warehouse staff
  • Oversee operations to ensure customer expectations are met
  •  Monitor KPIs and lead the operations team towards targets
  • Ensure the warehouse space is used efficiently and make any changes to the storage profile that are in-line with customer expectations, budget targets, and best warehouse practices
  • Ensure CSRs and warehouse staff are aware of customer expectations and requirements, and are meeting them
  • Under the direction of the Branch Manager, ensure office staff and warehouse team are aligned to customer expectations and budget targets
  • Ensure productivity expectations are being met
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient space utilization through training and supervision of warehouse staff in the performance of regular duties
  • Manage the warehouse staff to avoid unplanned work stoppages and good employee morale
  • Communicate unforeseen warehouse events impacting service to the CSR and to the customer.

 

Core Competencies and Qualification:

  • 10 years of combined working and supervisory experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Proficiency on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and walkie-riders.
  • Experience supervising e-commerce/pick-and-pack operations.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of:
    • Best warehouse practices
    • Distribution Center operations
    • Warehouse management systems
    • Occupational health & safety requirements
    • Inventory control
    • RF devices
  • Familiarity with MS Office software, particularly Excel
  • 3PL experience an asset
