We are currently looking to add a Billing Supervisor who is equally passionate about serving the community and achieving operational success alongside our dedicated and loyal employees. The Billing Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the Billing and Payroll Team and is responsible for oversight, direction and effective management of billing and collection function across all business units in accordance with client specific contracts. This position reports to the Billing Manager.

 Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor billing team members
  • Training of new hires
  • Involved with interview and hiring process of new hires
  • Involved with performance reviews/issues
  • Billing/payroll of specific accounts
  • Review and interpret sales contracts as it relates to billing
  • Interpretation and verification of drivers time sheets
  • Review and verification of BOLs
  • Investigate driver pay questions/concerns
  • Coordination of any special customer billing requests
  • Weekly rating of driver payroll
  • Generation of paper/electronic invoicing
  • Meeting with clients (at customer locations) as required
  • Weekly review/reporting of unbilled/unrated orders
  • Regular 1:1 meetings with Billing & Payroll Associates
  • Manage and resolve escalated customer billing issues
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with other team members and customers to develop and implement process improvements
  • Maintenance/creation of documented Standard Operating Procedures
  • Backup support for billing/payroll of accounts within your team
  • Approval of overtime/schedules hours of billing team
  • Approval and process billing cancellation requests


Core Competencies and Qualifications:

  • 2 + years previous billing and trucking experience
  • Supervisory experience considered an asset
  • Must be result oriented
  • Previous transportation experience an asset
  • Customer service focus and a team player
  • Strong initiative to achieve individual/team goals
  • Proficient with Excel & experience with data manipulation and reporting
  • Computer experience within a billing environment
  • Ability to work within a high volume environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate results

 Working Conditions:

  • Interactive role required to be in office daily
  • Some flexability required with hours of work
