We are looking for a senior-level candidate who is passionate about working with travel demand models and transportation data, a problem solver, and someone who is excited about contributing to shaping the future of transportation. The Senior Travel Demand Modeler will provide support to market research, model development and application (four-step and activity-based models), quantitative analysis, statistical analysis, geographic information system (GIS) projects, and network development.  In addition, the Senior Modeler is responsible for network and model component coding, data input preparation and data analysis, QA/QC on travel forecasts, and scripting.  The Senior Modeler will interact with clients and contribute to business development and project management activities.   They will take responsibility for products delivered to clients and take pride in deliverables that reflect well on the clients and on Cambridge Systematics.  The Senior Modeler will take on managing projects and/or tasks with support from senior staff.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of the travel demand modeling process: four-step and/or activity-based models
  • Significant hands-on model implementation experience in one or more of the following software platforms:  TransCAD, Visum, Cube, Emme
  • Project experience with modeling software such as TransCAD, Cube, Emme, and/or Visum
  • Scripting or programming experience using one or more of the following: Python, R, GISDK, Cube Voyager, C, C++, C#, and/or Java
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Data processing & manipulation skills
  • Familiarity with GIS software and concepts

Salary: $130k+
