The Analytics business unit works to research, develop, and apply innovative and practical decision support tools, including transportation models. Our practice is built on a foundation of expert skills, quality assurance, customer service, and effective teamwork. We successfully leverage a variety of planning, engineering, market research, statistical analysis, visualization, and software development and application techniques to provide insights into existing conditions and problems, forecast alternative outcomes, and explain complex traveler (and consumer) behavior mechanisms.
The Analyst will provide technical support to a variety of projects ranging from travel demand model development and application (four-step and activity-based models), survey design and evaluation, data visualization, transit and highway corridor assessments, location-based analytics, assessment of transit and shared mobility systems, transportation market research, C/AV planning and modeling analyses and network development assignments. The Analyst may also be asked to contribute to business development and project management activities.

•Apply basic technical tools •Collect and organize data and technical documents •Prepare high-quality written material •Complete project tasks on time and within budget •Become familiar with consulting and one or more transportation domain areas •Produces and delivers exceptional quality work that is thorough, polished, and reflects well on CS •Provides exceptional value-added service to project managers and/or clients and communicates consistently with internal and external team members •Identify opportunities to address client requirements through the development of innovative data analysis/travel modeling/data engineering solutions •Actively listens and seeks to understand client or project manager needs •Learn new tools and technologies as appropriate
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, or related field
• 0-4 years of applicable experience
• Ability to conduct effective and rigorous data analyses
• Experience with scripting tools such as Python, R, or others
• Understanding of the underpinnings of travel demand models and familiarity with travel demand modeling software such as TransCAD and/or OpenPaths
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, or related field
• Understanding of statistical principles, including regression and discrete choice analyses
• Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with cloud-based data analytics platforms, such as Google BigQuery, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure/Databricks
• Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
