We are happy to say that we are looking for an “Infant Toddler Educator” to join our team at Tiny Scholars Early Learning Centre in Abbotsford, BC.

Weekly hours:                
30 – 40 hours per a week      
Pay:                                  $21/hour + Wage Enhancement
WHAT WILL YOU DO? 
The Infant Toddler Educator will at various times be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the company.

1. Establishing and maintaining safe and healthy conditions for children in an educational environment by:
  • Completing housekeeping responsibilities, including cleaning toys and equipment
  • Following the safety standards and staff guidelines set by the Tiny Scholars Early Learning Centre
  • Monitoring the classroom for hazards and take preventative actions, as required
  • Organizing the physical and social environments before activities
2. Provide positive and beneficial guidance to children enrolled in the Early Learning Centre:
  • Modeling positive behaviors to impact and build the student’s behaviors
  • Addressing and redirecting negative actions to promote positive language, self-esteem, and identity
  • Encouraging and assisting each child in caring out daily routines
  • Seeking out opportunities to recognize and celebrate new developmental achievements
3. Establish and maintain rapport with parents and coworkers
  • Communicating parent’s questions and concerns to Early Learning Centre Manager
  • Maintaining documentation and keeping record of children’s development and progression for supervisors
  • Assisting in maintaining continuous communication with parents via phone calls, emails, and face-to-face conversations
4. Maintain a commitment to professionalism and professional development:
  • Assisting with planning and carrying out activities that encourages the children’s problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Attending workshops and professional development activities as required
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems relating to the children or program
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Manager
WHY YOU?       
To be successful in the Infant Toddler Educator position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors, diploma, or certification degree in early childhood education (ECE) and Infant Toddler
  • One or more years of experience working with children or an school environment
  • Valid Infant Toddler Educator BC Certificate required
  • Up to date First Aid and CPR certification required
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation
  • High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and a supportive team
  • Ability to genuinely care for the emotional, social and cognitive needs of every child
  • Ability to adapt to children with special needs within the classroom and curriculum

  • Ability to be patient with children and determine an appropriate response
