Salary Range:                    $17/hourly + Full Benefits Package

About Us:   For more than four decades, Project Ninety has served individuals and families in San Mateo County through its alcohol and substance abuse treatment services. Over the years, Project Ninety has helped more than 23,000 individuals recover from the disease of addiction. Project Ninety’s services treat all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic standing, race, cultural background, education, age, or life experience. Project Ninety became a division of Caminar in June of 2018.

Position Description:    The Community Development Assistant assists the Administrative Specialist and the Maintenance Manager in all aspects of the community development process. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Assists in the following areas:
    • Takes responsibility in purchasing the immediate needs for all facilities including hygiene supplies, appliances, and furniture items.
    • Assists the Maintenance Manager in certain general labor and moving jobs
    • Ascertains the cleanliness and upkeep of all Project Ninety properties, owned or leased
    • Performs regular vehicle maintenance
    • Picks up donated items as needed
    • Transports clients as needed
    • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education – High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations – CA DMV license required.
  • Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of alcoholism and addiction, ability to set priorities and carry through goals to completion, ability to work in a team environment, knowledge of social model concepts, and an ability to train others.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in the delivery of services to an ethnically and economically diverse population.
  • Experience working in the substance abuse field is preferred.
  • Customer Service—manages difficult customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, and meets commitments.
  • Experience with Human Service Information Systems strongly preferred. Experience with web based time and attendance and staff training and development system helpful.
  • Must be passionate about Caminar's mission.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.
  • This position requires frequent driving. A valid California driver license, reliable personal vehicle, current personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements. 
  • Must be able to pass post offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
