Clinical Supervisor, LCSW/LMFT/LPCC (Contract, Part-Time)

Position Summary:       This is a contract position for up to 12-18 hours of supervision per week.  Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision to trainees and BBS-registered interns both individually and in a group setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:                       

  • Provide group and individual supervision to Caminar staff and trainees/interns who are acquiring hours for their LMFT, LPCC or LCSW, or other qualified licenses governed by the BBS.
  • Participate in the effort to ensure that all staff and trainees/interns are properly trained in clinical matters, relevant to the needs of their positions and those of regulatory and funding agencies.
  • Participate in annual and ongoing recruitment efforts to bring in quality trainees and interns to Caminar. (e.g., attend university placement fairs, practicum fairs, etc.)
  • Strive to ensure the excellence of the quality of care in all programs and to ensure thorough staff supervision that services are provided in accordance with the principles of social rehabilitation and agency ethical standards.
  • Model respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationships with all individuals served and employed.
  • Actively nurture and advance the cooperative, harmonious and teamwork oriented environment Caminar strives to promote within the workplace; Through daily efforts and presentation promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect in line with the organization’s mission, philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct yearly clinical evaluation for graduate schools for interns.
  • A familiarity with the barriers created by severe mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse and homelessness and an interest in strength-based solution focused counseling.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education – Master's degree in Social Work.
  • License – CA BBS License as LCSW required.
  • Experience – 2-5 years of clinical supervisory experience
  • Thorough clinical knowledge and experience in providing mental health services to adults with chronic and persistent mental illness.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in the delivery of services to an ethnically and economically diverse population.
