Tax Analyst

Job Summary:

The Tax Manager is primarily responsible for all company tax compliance, requests, audits, submissions, and filings to remain compliant with regulatory authorities. The Tax Manager also assists executive management team with tax planning and other projects as required.


Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist company’s hired tax providers to prepare and file required federal, state, and local income taxes for multiple legal entities including Canada and Puerto Rico.
  • Prepare and filing sales, use, business & occupation, gross receipts, and property tax returns for monthly, quarterly and annual filings
  • Interact and collaborate with the Company’s accounts receivable/billing department to ensure tax exemptions and tax credit approvals.
  • Research sales and use transaction tax issues to comply with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Review and reconcile assessment notices and trouble shoot discrepancies
  • Provide monthly estimated cash requirements to treasury
  • Interpret and comply with state, local and international statutes, regulations, and legislation
  • Manage all tax audits
  • Provide management reporting as required
  • Serve as the primary internal and external contact for all tax-related matters
  • Work closely with the Company’s hired tax providers to ensure an accurate and timely income tax provision
  • Experience with ERP implementations regarding tax related matters
  • Assist with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts and other ad-hoc accounting needs
  • Develop, implement, and document process improvements within the area of taxation
  • Perform other various functions – month-end entries, annual reporting, business licenses, etc.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • NetSuite and CCH experience preferred
  • Striving for continuous improvements; always getting better
  • Strong computer technical skills, especially in MS Excel
  • Very responsive and organized, not losing track of outstanding deliverables
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Team-player, customer-centric attitude


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in either tax accounting, federal or state income tax compliance, property tax compliance, and sales and use tax compliance
  • Two years of pubic accounting experience a plus
