Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the execution, guidance, governance and integration of the business intelligence systems and tools for structuring, organizing, storing, retrieving, analyzing and reporting data. This position will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations and projects in the IT Department working with either internal employees or third party partners. Will provide general support to maintain applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance, and quality. This person needs to be self-motivated, completion oriented, able to handle pressure and work well with others.  Will work very closely with subject matter experts in the business and the IT team.

 

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze, develop and implement complex data modeling within a Business Analytics Platform
  • Collaborate with business leaders, managers, and analysts in order to coordinate business processes, analyze efforts, and develop methods for capturing and maintaining shared business data and analytics tools across multiple technology & application platforms
  • Research industry trends, business practices, data sources and develop recommendations to meet future business needs. Envision future uses of data and work with impacted functional areas regarding what enterprise-wide information of what should be captured, where it is maintained, and who should have access to it
  • Implement Business Intelligence governance for the organization as defined by the business
  • Establish long-term and short-term priorities for enterprise-wide analytics and business intelligence deployment
  • Resolves problems and performance issues. Provides support and suggestions in regards to operational issues for performance improvements and or platform upgrades
  • Ensures department operations complies with all security, audit, regulatory compliance, information security, and privacy guidelines
  • Works with their manager in developing short and long-term goals and plans for the reporting platform
  • Ensure effective communication of user requirements and provide Helpdesk support
  • Creates/Maintains technical Specifications and Backup/Recovery Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Project Management experience including timelines and costs
  • Experience with Business Process Analysis, testing and debugging
  • Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills
  • Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees and vendors
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Must be dedicated to continuous improvement

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as computer, laptop, and cell phone.
  • Manager may work from a home office.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field, minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in a BI & BA Platform
