Looking for candidates with flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed for this busy, 24/7 hospital; the target shift is on the day shift team.

Ophthalmology Technician Assistant

Burlington Emergency and Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT             

WHAT YOU’LL DO              

  • Clean exam rooms, treatment room and surgical suites, vacuum, empty trash as needed 
  • Gather, wash, dry, fold laundry and store away
  • Stock surgery suites, treatment areas and exam rooms
  • Clean equipment used in surgery procedures which can include scrubbing, sterilizing, and packing instruments
  • Processes specialty and general instruments and communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor
  • Set up and break for down surgery procedures
  • Sterilization/Processing equipment is monitored for proper functioning and required documentation records are maintained
  • Maintains an adequate supply of sterile packs and supplies to meet area needs
  • Restraint of animals for presurgical exams and procedures, blood draws, radiographs, outpatient procedures, and catheter placements
  • Fill medications and apply labels
  • Walk patients as needed
  • Run appropriate blood work and other lab work
  • Preparing patient paperwork

REQUIREMENTS               

  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • At least one year of prior experience in a veterinary or animal handling role required  
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
