This is a fully remote contract position; however, PST working hours are highly preferred.
Contract Hourly Compensation Rate: $30-40 per hour for up to 20 hours per week.
Position Overview:
Bulletproof is looking for a Web Developer to join an agile development team building and working on enterprise front end web properties. This role will provide development and technical support for existing web-based ecommerce and CMS platforms, working on various projects. The Web Developer is involved in all areas of development from GIT based feature branch development to ongoing platform updates and systems maintenance, quality assurance testing, issue resolution, and project technical support. The candidate must be able to scope tasks on a per project basis, implementing new features and enhancements that support the overall project goals and requirements. The Web Developer will support multiple projects and initiatives and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced agile development environment. This role requires a strong technical background with a proven history of successful results, and the candidate must be able to provide references and a portfolio showcasing previous work. A skills test may be required to test candidate proficiency and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Wordpress theme codebase and plugin enhancements in PHP, HTML, JS, SCSS/CSS, MySQL.
- Develop and maintain Shopify Plus theme code and extensions via Liquid, Ruby, JS, GraphQL, APIs, 3rd party app integrations, HTML, SCSS/CSS
- Prototype, develop, and maintain code for software components and features based on functional specification and optimize them for system performance.
- Make ongoing platform updates as needed on Shopify Plus and Wordpress platforms, based on pre-scheduled business requirements.
- Develop with a focus on best practices, and have a technical emphasis on performance, scalability, security, ADA, and consent requirements.
- Prioritize and execute on eCommerce tasks in collaboration with internal business teams and partners, while being a technical resource lead.
- Be a self-starter able to take initiative to solve problems on a daily basis.
- Utilize technical skillset and familiarity w/ existing platforms to build, test, and deploy code related to the eCommerce platforms.
Qualifications:
- Deep experience and knowledge of Wordpress, Shopify Plus, Liquid, PHP, HTML/SCSS, JS including Vue.js, and general front end development.
- Experiencing in developing and customizing Shopify and Wordpress themes. Expert level knowledge of PHP and Liquid a must.
- Candidate must have 5+ yrs of hands-on experience developing and extending WordPress and Shopify platforms.
- Experience with GIT, npm, node, local and remote development. Experience w/ Laravel MIX, Grunt, Beanstalk, Bitbucket a plus.
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields, custom post types, Shopify Scripts and Functions, and comfortable developing custom Shopify apps and checkout UI extensions.
- Experience with JIRA and working in agile sprints. Understanding of agile workflow and development methodologies.
- Candidate must possess the ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks over multiple projects.
