The OPPORTUNITY:
Leverage your IT experience and join our growing team as the Cloud Administrator. This position is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and management of BMIC’s cloud infrastructure and associated services. The Cloud Administrator will help align our corporate strategies into tactical cloud solutions to meet business needs. This role works collaboratively with other members of the IT team and leads the work to ensure that our cloud-based services are performing optimally and securely. Because the success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve, this hybrid role will work in our Raleigh office a minimum of two days with the flexibility of remote work three days a week. 

Your WORK as the Cloud Administrator will make a difference as you:

  • Deploy, maintain, and manage cloud-based solutions and services.
  • Collaborate with developers, system integrators and business teams to support the BMIC technology strategy and architecture.
  • Monitor performance metrics and troubleshoot system performance with cloud environments to ensure that it meets business requirements, identify potential issues before they become problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other internal IT teams to ensure that solutions are delivered in a timely fashion and any issues are quickly resolved.
  • Configure and manage virtual networking, storage accounts, and storage containers
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures for cloud-based services.
  • Automate infrastructure build scripts and deployment processes using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and other tools.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users of cloud-based service.

SKILLS to get the JOB done RIGHT:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience as a Cloud Administrator or similar role; insurance industry experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding and experience with cloud-based services and architecture such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Skilled in Virtualization Platforms - VMWare & Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of networking and security concepts such as firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Bicep or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Ability to break-down and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
