Mission of the position

The Product Line & Pricing Manager is accountable for the assigned region and responsible for global communication of best practices to other Product Line & Pricing manager. The Product Line & Pricing manager sets price and margin targets in accordance with the Center of Excellence (COE) tools and Marketing Team.  The Product Line & Pricing manager will also be responsible for developing the omnichannel pricing strategy projects.  This role will be responsible for building and maintaining price targets with support from Master Data Management for services, subscriptions, and equipment.  The Product Line & Pricing manager will also be responsible for owning and executing the COE pipeline for Continuous Improvement projects for the Commercial team. The Product Line & Pricing manager is also responsible to manage profitable product portfolios that balance market needs against offering proliferation, working continually with Operations and Procurement to maximize profitability.  The role owns the product line roadmap strategy and evolution and positions Buckman effectively against competitors and also creates sales enablement tools to improve Sales technical proficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Establishing Price Analysis metrics and understanding the effect of price on Sales, GP, Volume and OP
  • Create and own the process for setting price targets using percentile analysis on current price, win / loss rates, competitive intelligence, and cost/market drivers.
  • Set annual price targets for the Region in the Business Planning process.
  • Sets cluster price targets all businesses in the region.
  • Product Life Cycle Management – post launch (PLCM) collect feedback across markets prioritize product evolution
  • Understand Technology-  Aligned with Customer/Industry and needs of Markets
  • Develop strong partnerships with key raw material suppliers, lead internal effort to reduce/eliminate single source & sole source raw materials & PFRs
  • Product Stewardship and Competitive Positioning – benchmarking, cost, pricing, competitive positioning
  • Oversight of product portfolio in relation to Innovation pipeline
  • Develops technical Sales Enablement documentation at product level
  • Works with Operations/Sales via the S&OP process to minimize SLOB/Inventory
  • Works with Operations & procurement to monitor product cost levers and creates pricing movement communication

ProfitabilityMaximize Profitability by:

  • Define product portfolio (new and make older product lines obsolete)
  • Driving end-to-end pricing process, including pricing analytics, governance, execution, dashboarding, & reporting
  • Set price/margin targets by product and market (e.g., price books)
  • Own & maintain competitive intelligence database
  • Support price increase execution/tracking
  • Analyze profitability of new programs and document product line or product group decisions.
  • Creatively identify and execute on margin improvement projects to improve profitability
  • Understands supply chain and raw material trends and the impact on pricing.  Provides documentation to Sales for product pricing changes.

Price Strategy and Execution Develop and Own Governance by:

  • Set the overall vision and strategy for the product offering monetization in Region
  • Develop pricing strategies at macro and micro level in-line with business strategy. This involves evaluating Buckman against market indicators, business strategy, internal variables & open opportunity, holding workshops with stakeholders and arrive at the pricing strategy that is used as a baseline for all negotiations
  • Set price approval Delegation of Authority

Price Strategy and Execution – Develop and Grow Buckman’s Pricing Capabilities by:

  • Align pricing strategy for our current and future product offerings with our product vision and goals
  • Design processes to improve pricing governance, execution, and decision making
  • Own Price setting Strategy for omni-channel execution in-region (e.g., Mercury, Diwali/Neptune, subscription pricing)
  • Own Price setting strategy for digital and service based offerings.
  • Cross functional support for Procurement when market pricing cannot support cost increases

Minimum requirements

  • University Degree in Science, Engineering or Business
  • Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) or equivalent
  • 4-6 years’ experience in the role.
  • Fluent/Advanced English
