Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical process engineering support to ensure safe and efficient production at the site. This role performs engineering assignments that are typically a significant portion of a larger project and ensures successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints. In addition, the role works in close collaboration with other engineers/managers at the site providing technical support for the production processes, optimization of process conditions, product quality control, and continuous process improvement.

Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:

 

  • Work under the collaborative direction and moderate to high supervision of the Director of Manufacturing
  • Review project specification drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards
  • Actively participate in project team meetings and project decisions
  • Provide follow up and engineering assistance for defined problems
  • Assist with field teams on installations, issue identification, analysis and/or repairs
  • Assist with engineering specifications and calculation
  • Prepare documentation, reports and summaries to communicate project progress and results

 

Minimum / Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Strong proficiency in process design standards, tools, and processes.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills to translate strategic direction into tactical plans and implementation activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of working with a diverse group of people and cultures.

 

Highly Desirable Experiences:

 

  • Front End Engineering Design (FEED) package and stage-gate project management experience.
  • Commissioning and start up experience of batch chemical plants.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors
