Mission Statement

We are looking for a highly motivated Quality Assurance Manager.

In this role you will contribute to the success of Buckman EMENA by effectively leading the quality team improving the quality assurance and the quality controls. You will support Buckman Laboratories Ghent and Customer Sites by improving the quality program management, the quality control processes, compliance with legislation and corporate requirements. You will identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to achieve business excellence.

 

Expectations for the role

  • Leading and coaching the Quality Team and effectively manage the Quality Management Program and Quality Control function
  • Interpret, build upon, and comply with company quality assurance standards, develop collaboration with quality peers in other region and be instrumental in the global team to develop and implement quality assurance strategies.
  • Lead the company complaint- and nonconformance processes through tracking systems, controls, root cause identification and ensure execution of sustainable corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Proactive in resolving customer complaints and quality issues with a sense of urgency
  • Partnering with sales team focusing on completely satisfying our customer expectations
  • Ensuring compliance to our triple ISO systems (45001, 14001 and 9001). Responsible to document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits. Responsible for customer/supplier and third parties audits
  • Identify, measure and lead improvement reducing the Cost of Poor Quality in the entire organization
  • Develop a Quality culture throughout  the organization to exceed customers requirements & expectations and shifts our focus from reactive to proactive quality oversight and quality assurance versus solely quality control
  • Oversight the preparation and efficiency improvement of the quality control guidelines
  • Identify any quality problems in the production process and suggest improvements on the batch to batch consistency
  • Seeking ways to improve existing processes and procedures to meet quality objective
  • Ensuring effective Performance and Talent Management of direct reports by agreeing on appropriate KPI's, improvement actions follow up and ensuring compliance and accountability;
  • Identify training needs and take action to ensure company-wide compliance
  • Pursue continuing education on new solutions, technology, and skills
  • Driving continuous improvement


Minimum requirements
to apply

  • Master’s degree in chemistry
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading the quality program in the chemical sector
  • You are up-to-date on all quality standards (ISO 9001, 9100, IATF, ...)
  • Passionate about quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Hand-on attitude focusing on improving total cost of poor quality in overall processes
  • Ownership with sense of urgency in investigation of customer or quality complaints
  • Advanced relationship building skills and communication;
  • IT/Computer skills (MS Office, ERP).

 

Requirements considered a plus:

  • Professional certification, Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor preferred
  • Certification in Lean – Six Sigma
