Key Job Responsibilities

 

         Lead, coordinate, and maintain North America (NA) safety, health, and environmental management systems in compliance with appropriate ISO standards including internal and external audit programs, procedure reviews and updates, periodic and annual KPM development and reporting, training on systems and requirements, completion of CARs, and audit findings.

         Supervises the Memphis Plant SHE Manager, Memphis Plant SHE Specialist, Cadet SHE Manager and NA Sales Safety Manager.

         Manage and apply continuous improvement principles to safe work permit, high hazard permit system components and Critical Standards, Risk Reduction Standards and Golden Rules.

         Support PSM system components of PHA, mechanical integrity, PSM information and associate participation. Also support MOC, prestart-up safety review, and incident investigation systems.

 

         Leads NA in the utilization of Buckman SHE software for incident management, action item tracking, inspections, audits, job safety analysis, compliance / permits and others as they are rolled out globally.

         Liaise with external regulatory agencies to ensure appropriate notification, coordination and response regarding standards, inspections, and other required actions.

         Ensure key emergency response functions for Buckman NA including Emergency Response, Incident Command Structure, Fire Brigade, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, confined space rescue, medical emergency response is effective. Also responsible for maintaining current and accurate Plant, COB and Sales Emergency Response Plans and related required drills and alarm function tests.

         Coordinate and support health related programs including annual physical process, hearing exams, drug screens, CPR, First Aid and related supplies, industrial hygiene monitoring, and respiratory protection training/fit testing.

         Implementation and sustainment of Buckman Global SHE initiatives including participation and support on the Global SHE Community.

         Maintain a SHE presence at the NA Management Team and NA Operation leadership team.

         Conduct all needed SHE training/recordkeeping as needed to keep the Buckman North America Associates

         Lead the overall effective completion of the NA Sales Hazardous Chemical Application Systems (HCAS) inspections and action closures.

         Oversee the completion of key Sales Associate training in Defensive Driving, Critical Standards, 6S Projects, Risk Reduction Standards and Hazardous Chemical Application Standard (HCAS).

         Support workers compensation administration with Buckman Company Nurse Administer, Operations and SHE staff.

         Manage contractor approval, authorization, and training

         Ensures compliance with S/H/E regulations

         Support of S/H/E programs, community council, and continuous improvement initiatives

         Ensure specific compliance with hazardous materials transportation requirements

         Maintain permits, documents, and records

 

Essential Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in a science/engineering discipline

7+ years related experience/training

5+ years occupational health, safety & environmental experience in chemical or similar industry

5+ years’ experience with SHE Direct Reports

Knowledge of basic chemistry

Experience in computer systems needed to support SHE and the overall business.
