Position Summary
The North America Indirect Spend Sourcing Manager contributes to the success of Buckman North America most by
sourcing Buckman's controllable spend for assigned cost areas. This includes developing and managing
processes, systems, procedures and relationships to achieve the best value on a total cost basis for the
reliable supply of indirect goods and services.
Job Description
- Work with various departments within North America that spend indirect dollars to develop a Sourcing Strategy for the goods and services purchased that will optimize Buckman's return for that spend
- Responsible for supplier relationship management for each assigned indirect spend category
- Reduce operating costs, risk, and complexity in indirect spend
- Negotiate the best possible deals for one time purchases, whether operating expense or capital spend
- Active in developing procedures, processes, systems, ERP solutions, etch, to achieve effective overall business process for the purpose of transacting for indirect spends
- Perform legal review of purchase orders, purchase agreements, and other contractual documents pertaining to a one time or ongoing purchase
Minimum requirement to apply
Must have had successful experiences:
- 4-10 years combined experience and/or training
- Experience in the chemical process manufacturing industry
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and board of directors
Desirable experiences:
- Degree and/or certification that compliments and supports Supply Chain Management/Procurement for the chemical process manufacturing industry
- Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
