A Production Manager position has become available in the Manufacturing Department, based in Hammarsdale.

The purpose of the job is to manage the production and packaging functions for the Hammarsdale Plant.



  • BSc Honours Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Post-graduate qualification (Business Studies) or equivalent advantageous


Experience:  8 to 10 Years manufacturing experience (preferably in the chemical industry with 3 to 5 years at management level)


Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • The execution of the company manufacturing strategy.
  • Ensuring effective management of inventory.
  • Planning Leading, organizing and controlling the manufacturing team.
  • Maintaining and improving waste generation and disposal.
  • Maintaining and improving Process Safety and QRA requirements.
  • Implementing continuous improvement and project management initiatives.
  • Maintaining and improve SHE Manufacturing performance.
  • Knowledge of DCS configuration and management of Instrumentation Contractor.
  • Ensure that the Water Recovery Plant is fully operational and meeting specifications
  • Adhere to all financial budgets and improving on cost reduction of products


Knowledge, skills and abilities required

  • Strong understanding of safety systems, hazard identification and risk analysis of processes (HIRA), batch operations would be advantageous
  • Risk assessment skills, general problem-solving using data analytics and root cause failure analysis techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of process safety, policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Knowledge of DCS configuration
  • Advanced knowledge of related chemistries and chemical manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Advanced project management skills and portfolio management principles and have the ability to lead projects.
  • Strong leadership and management skills and abilities.
  • Basic understanding of financial management principles
  • Good understanding of contract management principles
  • Basic understanding of core business principles    
  • Good understanding of chemistry of products
