Purpose
At Buckman, our Accounts Department ensures strong financial governance by managing end-to-end general accounting activities, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to support end‑to‑end financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely compliance with both internal and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, provisions, reclasses)
- Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure timely closure of open items and unreconciled balances
- Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Support fixed assets accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals)
- Perform variance analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls (SOX)
- Prepare schedules and support internal and external audits
- Coordinate with AP, AR, and other teams for issue resolution
- Support management reporting and statutory requirements
- Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives
Key Deliverables
- Accuracy of journal entries and financial reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliation completeness and aging
- Reduction in open/unreconciled items
- Audit compliance and minimal audit findings
- Timely resolution of intercompany differences
- Quality and timeliness of variance analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in commerce /accounting / finance (BCom / BBA – Finance or equivalent)
M.Com / MBA – Finance, CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter), CPA / ACCA is an added advantage - Strong reconciliation and variance analysis
- 4-7 years of experience into General Ledger and R2R processes, US GAAP knowledge, Journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, ERP systems (SAP Mandatory)
- Stakeholder management
- Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable,
- Hands on experience in handling both indirect (GST) and direct taxation (TDS), banking documentation and compliances.
- Experience with accounting software (SAP)and online platforms GST,TDS, ROC returns filing.
