Position Summary
Buckman is seeking a Production Manager to lead the Cadet production department in the safe, sustainable, customer-focused delivery of manufactured goods. Exhibit relentless pursuit of continuous improvement in operational excellence by developing excellent production process understanding, driving a continuous improvement culture, and identifying and implementing projects and process improvements (for both manufacturing and business processes). Provide “felt leadership” for department, including coaching and developing team members.

Essential Job Responsibilities
▪ Continuous occupational S/H/E improvement to ensure a safe workplace and environmentally sound operation
▪ Champion the safety vision, S/H/E initiatives and programs within the department
▪ Ensure operational discipline within department for consistently safe choices and drive/sustain 5S initiatives
▪ Develop and maintain full understanding of the chemical and process hazards presented by  production processes
▪ Lead, direct, and manage the production team, to ensure the team has clear direction and expectations
▪ Consistently apply company policies and procedures within the department
▪ Deliver operational excellence in the attainment of production requirements and customer satisfaction
▪ Contribute to the development and implementation of OEE metrics for the production department.
▪ Identify and implement projects and process improvements (manufacturing and business processes) to deliver continuous improvement in OEE metrics
▪ Work with maintenance manager to ensure effective implementation of preventive maintenance required for process safety and maximizing OEE-availability
▪ Contribute to the development of capital expense plans and budgets, including project justification
▪ Complete high-level capital project budget estimates and requests for capital expenditures for assigned projects

Essential Job Requirements
▪ Bachelor’s Degree  – Chemical Engineering Preferred
▪ 5+ years related experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, with strong preference for batch reaction processes
▪ SAP Experience

Preferred Job Qualifications
▪ Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Field
▪ Experience with highly hazardous chemicals
