Purpose:

We’re looking for a chemist to join our team and help us build safe, high-quality products. The candidate will work closely with manufacturer on the product transfer, scale up and quality improvement.  Product re-formulation, new source raw material evaluation and new formulation development are also part of the job scope.

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • Degree or above in Organic Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Polymer Science or relevant discipline
  • More than 3 years of experience in R&D / formulation products, preferably in pulp and paper, water treatment, polymeric resins, surfactants or paint and coating industries
  • Being familiar with SAP system is preferable
  • Knowledge and prior experience in analytical equipment, HPLC, FTIR, and ICP will be added advantage
  • Good communication skills, ability to prioritize and work with cross-functional business units and teams
  • Good Time-management abilities
  • Good English and attention to detail.

    Accountabilities:

 
  • Develop new products and work closely with production team to scale up
  • Reformulate existing products to improve performance or cost-effectiveness or regulation compliance
  • Evaluate new sources of raw materials
  • Analyze competitor samples and development of similar products if required
  • Improve the production process and assist to troubleshoot ad-hoc process-related production problems
  • Prepare TOPs and SOPs for new/improved products
  • Perform chemical and physical analysis and testing in support of the manufacturing of chemicals
  • Prepare laboratory samples for the field
  • Conduct investigation on the root cause of the quality-related customer complaint; Record customer complaints and follow-up till closure.
  • Review product specifications as and when required and issue spec change notification letters.
  • Maintain and update QC specifications (including commercial and internal specs) in SAP
