Key Job Responsibilities

 

• Make recommendations concerning equipment purchases and upgrades, and submit requests for equipment purchases, and also determine what supplies are needed and ensure that supply is maintained for each piece of equipment

• Train other individuals/new associates on a specific piece of equipment

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and the required solution or reagent needs

• Address customer concerns promptly and effectively and interacting with Buckman sales representative to clearly define their requirements

• Participate in customer visits and trials to provide industry assistance and make recommendations for customers to solve problems

• Adhere to the maintenance schedule for all equipment

• Prepare samples for analysis while also ensuring the integrity of the sample throughout the analysis

• Determine the appropriate test requirements necessary to adequately address customer

• Attend internal and external training seminars regarding the specific industry

• Entering sample information into database

• Interpreting data from completed analyses and organize into reports

• Develop knowledge of application of Buckman products

• Maintain required report metrics (TAT, ECD, Quality)

• Cross training to perform methods most needed by the customer and ensure there is sufficient backup for required testing

• Complete testing that demonstrates a fair distribution of work among the associates

• Provide support by participating in supplementary team initiatives

• Assist Global Product Technology project support efforts

• Plan the performance of auxiliary duties that support testing (ordering, making

solutions, bringing up, shutting down and calibrating instruments, performing ISO

calibrations, etc.) that demonstrates a fair distribution of work among the associates

 

Essential Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university

Experience preferred in (Pulp & Paper, Water, Leather)

Proficient in laboratory instrumentation and associated test methods is preferred

Ability to communicate well, team player, and provide excellent customer service
