Position Summary

Buckman is seeking an intern to innovate in the field of digital industrial applications. You will work closely with Buckman stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the  paper and water industry and will contribute to the success of Buckman’s digital strategy by collaborating with the digital team, stakeholders and external partners in initiatives and successfully completing work on global projects.

 

This is an exciting and impactful role that lies at the intersection of traditional Specialty Chemicals business and exciting new possibilities on the digital side leveraging Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and other emerging tools.  You will be involved in the entire life cycle of product development, including idea generation, rapid prototyping to develop MVP candidates, product development, and commercial deployment.

 

Main results

  • Work directly with key stakeholders to understand the goals, scope, and outcomes of the capabilities we are trying to develop.  
  • Assume responsibility for prioritization, develop specifications (Business Requirements and Functional Requirements), develop and deploy platform features in a consistent manner (aligned with the Digital Director). 
  • Evaluate key stages of the development process and develop project timeline and milestones for development, testing, and global implementation of new solutions.
  • Assess risks and develop contingency plans. 
  • Support project planning and deliverables in the region and globally.
  • Work with Digital team to ensure that feature development is tested correctly and implemented on time and with quality.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Studying Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge in Node.js, ReactJS/React Native, or similar
  • Knowledge in Azure Data Factory / Azure environment will be a plus
  • Basic knowledge of developing and deploying IoT applications
  • Advanced English is required, as the intern will work directly with internal and external partners from different regions of the world
  • Availability of 1 to 2 years of internship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of learning new digital skills. A hands-on contributor with a demonstrated portfolio of prior work that may include: 
    • Participation in hackathons,
    • Participation in university competitions and projects
    • Previous internship experience
  • Knowledge in Industrial Internet of Things and experience developing and deploying IoT applications
  • Coursework in building and programming devices is prefer
  • Knowledge in project management tools aimed at software development (DevOps, PlanView)
