Position Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to provide managerial leadership to the Maintenance Department.  The role also coordinates activities with Contractors for Asset Reliability, equipment operational improvements and repairs  for Memphis Manufacturing.  The Maintenance Manager establishes strategy for “optimizing on-stream time for production equipment”, continuous improvements, management of utilities and the associated equipment, as well as maintaining the centralized method for asset information particularly as it relates to design, repair and history tracking.  The Maintenance Manager maintains the centralized maintenance management system for the Memphis Site. In addition, the role works in close collaboration with CAPEX project management providing technical support for the planned capital improvements or repairs to processing equipment and site infrastructure.  Work collaboratively with the Production Manager, Asset Reliability manager and with the Director of Manufacturing, which is who this position reports too.  The role manages the spare parts stock room for manufacturing, as well as supports purchasing for CAPEX.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Maintain well trained staff for support of trades required to maintain equipment such as electricians, pipefitters, instrumentation and general mechanical  repair.
  • Leads by example to safe and environmentally responsible execution of manufacturing operations by integrating S/H/E impacts into projects, repairs, plans, and work products,
  • leading incident investigations using root cause analysis,
  • participating in and implementing recommendations from PHA/LOPA,
  • leading pre-start-up safety reviews for newly modified  processes and process modifications,
  • championing the safety vision, S/H/E initiatives, and programs. 
  • Works independent in these activities, mentors direct reports.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. engineering field from accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 10-15 years direct maintenance and engineering experience preferred from high hazard chemical operations
  • Over 5 years of  supervisory experience
  • Experience with welder certifications or non destructive testing certifications not required but preferred.

  • Ability to learn and apply basic project management fundaments and cost estimation techniques
  • Patience and persistence in rapidly changing circumstances (in and out of direct control)
  • Ability to mentor guide and develop key trade skills such as pump repairs, welding, electrical and instrumentation
