Job Description

Buckman is seeking for an intern to innovate in the field of digital industrial applications. You will work closely with Buckman stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the  water industry, also touching basis with leather, paper and performance chemical industries and will contribute to the success of Buckman’s digital strategy by collaborating with the digital team, stakeholders and external partners in initiatives and successfully completing work on global projects. 

This is an exciting and impactful role that lies at the intersection of traditional Specialty Chemicals business and exciting new possibilities on the digital side leveraging Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, and other emerging tools.  The role will involve collaboration with diverse stakeholders including sales, chemical innovation professionals and marketing.  You will be involved in the entire life cycle of product development, including idea generation, rapid prototyping to develop MVP candidates, product development, and commercial deployment.  

  

         Basic Qualifications

  • On going B.S. or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, control and automation engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, production engineering, or related areas.
  • Basic knowledge of sensors and industrial instrumentation
  • Basic knowledge of developing and deploying IoT applications
  • Advanced English is a required, as the intern will work directly with internal and external partners from different regions of the world

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent Spanish is a differentiator
  • A tinkerer, who has a demonstrated history of learning new digital skills on their own. A hands-on contributor with a demonstrated portfolio of prior work. 
    • Participation in hackathons,
    • Participation in university competitions and projects
    • Previous internship experience
  • Desirable knowledge in Industrial Internet of Things and experience developing and deploying IoT applications
  • Desirable knowledge in building and programming devices
  • Desirable knowledge in project management tools aimed at software development (DevOps, PlanView)
  • A propensity and competence designing bespoke sensors that suit the application.
