Position Summary
Ensure the mechanical integrity and operational reliability of plant equipment through timely, safe, and cost-effective maintenance practices that directly support Buckman’s production goals, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Outcomes/Responsibilities
Outcome: Ensure Plant Reliability Through Effective Mechanical Maintenance
Reduce unplanned downtime and ensure mechanical readiness of equipment

Success Metric: >95% of scheduled maintenance tasks completed on time
Actions:
- Execute timely repairs, installations, and mechanical constructions for all plant and utility equipment.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled for all plant and utility equipment.
- Escalate and communicate mechanical issues proactively to minimize downtime on equipment.
- Assist external contractors to ensure alignment with plant standards, and to minimize project and expense costs.
- Track and follow up on work orders to ensure completion and quality with maintenance supervisor.
Backup Maintenance Shift Lead for CMMS System Execution
Outcome: Support Continuous and Efficient Production Operations
Minimize disruption to operations through proactive maintenance and understanding production needs
Issues are reviewed with maintenance supervisor and production operations within 30 minutes of being alerted to the issue.
Actions:
- Maintain effective on-call availability and responsiveness during off-shifts.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance supervisor and manager to understand issues and address
- Safely able to stop one task to address another as needed throughout the work day.

Zero recordable injuries and zero environmental violation attributed to maintenance and utility activities.
Foster a culture of safety and environmental compliance while protecting personnel and equipment.

- Maintain working knowledge of Buckman boiler procedures and regulations.
- Monitor, log, and interpret boiler data; adjust chemical feed rates as needed.
- Respond to alarms and maintain awareness of control system operations.
- Catch samples on a weekly basis and log in book
- Blow down all boiler systems daily
- Review soft water system, add salt as needed to keep conductivity at right levels
- Move Tank Farm Water, Tank 13 Waste water Movements, and T28 Water Level Monitoring

- Review with supervisor and manager any ideas to improve current failures to minimize failures in the future

Success Metric: Plant Downtime >12 hours Due To Maintenance Failures Has No Repeat Issues in 180 days.
Actions:
- When failures occur that have happened many times, stop work, get with leadership, and review the failure to a greater extent and decide on path forward to minimize downtime or eliminate completely.
- When doing repairs to critical pieces of equipment being willing to seek help in order to do it properly without issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Job Experience: 7-9 years
