Position Summary
Providing technical and general leadership for the Cadet Plant Quality Control laboratory and conducting when necessary, plant operator and shipping duties to consistently meet the customers' needs while at the same time maintaining a safe workplace, protecting our environment, and contributing to the overall goal of continuous improvement in all key aspects of our business.
Key Outcomes/Responsibilities
Outcome: Technical Leadership of QC Department
Accurate and timely documentation and reporting the supports manufacturing operations and decision-making.
Actions:

· Developing the QC portion of the Mfg. Services Department annual plan |
· Leading development of the QC portion of the Inc. Capital Plan for Cadet |
· Planning and recommending technical equipment for QC activities in the lab and plant |
· Achieving all KPM targets pertaining to the department & QC area in particular |
· Providing technical leadership in working directly with R&D in the effective implementation of appropriate product test methods |
· Assisting Engineers with Cadet Pilot Plant as needed |
Outcome: Ensuring Accurate Analysis
Actions:
· Monitoring & mentoring the technical work of all associates working in the lab |
· Developing effective training modules for QC and other associates working in the lab |
· Leading effective lab training sessions with all associates with responsibilities in the lab |
· Following management priorities and communicating priorities to others |
· Communicating progress on analyses to applicable associates |
· Timely reporting of results |
· Setting priorities when not given by management |
Outcome: Maintain Equipment
Actions:
· Running calibrations |
· Performing predictive and preventive maintenance on all lab and plant QC equipment |
· Repairing faulty equipment in a timely fashion |
Outcome: Maintain Adequate Chemical Inventory

· Checking lab stock |
· Requisitioning/ordering |
· Making reagents and standards when necessary |
Outcome: ISO Documentation Support & Maintain Quality Certification
Up-to-date and compliant ISO documentation across manufacturing sites.
Actions:
- Ensure all SOP files are current
- Files new SOP
· Following specifications/procedures |
· Documenting according to specification/procedures |
· Keeping records up to date |
· Modifying documents as required |
· Attending and participating in meetings |
· Conducting audits as required |

Operational continuity through effective resource and equipment management.

· Developing and updating as necessary QC Safety Manual to meet or exceed Buckman lab safety guidelines |
· Complying with and enforcing safety and environmental procedures, rules, and regulations |
· Cleaning and organizing lab |
· Attending and actively participating in safety meetings |
Basic Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related chemistries
- Job Experience: 2-3 years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SAP and document control systems preferred
