Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Northern Border Operations, the Warehouse Supervisor is an action-oriented and results-driven subject matter expert for all items relating to warehouse operations and facility services. In acting as the subject matter expert, he/she will provide best practices, recommendations, plans and guidance for the consistent improvement of the Warehouse operations and facilities while acting as a champion of the program.

 

Qualifications / Skills Requirement

  • 5+ years proven warehouse management experience including supervision of warehouse staff members
  • Degree in business administration/management or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Software
  • Project management experience including warehousing relocation experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to generate and follow up on sales leads
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement processes improvement initiatives
  • Excellent leadership, communication and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization skills with attention to detail
  • Preparation, review, recommend pricing for existing and new clients
  • Outstanding work safe attitude and safety record, knowledge of OHSA
  • Certification in health and safety
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and must have valid forklift certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be flexible for work on weekends and holiday as required
  • Heavy lifting is required
  • Some travel may be required to our office locations

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily tasks in an efficient manner; prioritize shipping, receiving, inventory and product returns
  • Prepare and process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
  • Work with management to enhance and/or develop warehousing, inventory control and shipping processes
  • Responsible for staff development including timely employee evaluations and promoting positive morale of warehouse team
  • Ensure that the facility and surrounding property is immaculately kept and maintained and ensures the consistent provision of a safe, inviting environment to promote efficiencies, positive work environment and properly represent the organization.
  • Coordinates all 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues quickly and effectively while ensuring safety and workplace productivity are not compromised. Support and cover Maintenance person duties, as needed.
  • Schedule and arrange needed preventative maintenance programs for all equipment to comply to lease conditions to maximize output and reduce costly repairs.
  • Creates and maintains effective reports to ensure proper communication and documentation of all facilities related work including; communication/activity updates, equipment operation, project work and budget management.
  • Manage projects as needed (renovations, expansion, relocation, etc.) using Project Management best practices and communicating with stakeholders
  • Act as the key contact for all contractors and suppliers, including on-call security contact
  • Set examples for safety, punctuality, enthusiasm, organization and personal effort
  • All other duties as required
