Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Biology of Aging

The Buck Institute for Research on Aging has an opening for a new faculty member at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking an outstanding candidate who works on the Biology of Aging and/or Age-Related Diseases. All model systems will be considered, including human cellular models.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree at time of appointment. The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead a productive and collaborative research group as part of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. The candidate will become a member of the different graduate research programs at the institute.


  • Doctoral degree and 3+ years of postdoctoral experience with a strong record of research publications and accomplishments
  • Clear demonstration of potential for establishing and leading a productive, cutting-edge research program focused on Geroscience , i.e., on the Biology of Aging or Age-Related Diseases
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster collaborative work within the institute and beyond
  • Prior experience in Geroscience research
