LOCATION: Northridge, California/Remote Flexibility

DEPARTMENT: Network Operations

REPORTS TO: Systems Administrator

PERCENTAGE OF TRAVEL: Up to 15%

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Broadvoice is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our growing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for installing, managing, and maintaining various systems across the organization. You will be a key member of a team of professionals supporting a fast-growing network and cloud infrastructure. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Perform necessary troubleshooting and diagnostic steps to ensure systems are operating reliably 
  • Administer network infrastructure and routing protocols between peers and systems   
  • Monitor network and respond to alerts
  • Daily monitoring of backup infrastructure, including scheduling system test restores
  • Upgrade and rebuild systems and perform regular security and software level updates 
  • Manage Database environment, including hardware and software
  • Manage network security and perform regular security audits
  • Document implementations and methods of procedure
  • Advise and assist managing IT Helpdesk on Corporate Network and System Infrastructure
  • Equipment moves and ethernet/fiber/power cabling and management

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • 5+ Years System/Network Administration
  • AA or bachelor’s degree in Computer related field preferred
  • Shell Scripting (Proficiency in any one of any of the following required: Bash, Perl or Python)
  • 5+Years Linux Administration required
  • Cloud Computing (AWS experience strongly preferred)
  • Virtualization (Hypervisors, QEMU/KVM preferred)
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent preferred
  • Networking (Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, Firewall & VPN)
  • Database (Failover, Replication & Clustering)
  • Network Monitoring 
  • Domain Administration DNS
  • Storage Technologies (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, RAID)
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery 
  • Ability to manage time resources effectively
  • Ability to work after-hours, be on call and occasionally travel
  • Ability to work after-hours 1-2 nights per week.
  • Ability to be on-call after-hours rotation and respond to system alerts.
