Gulfshore Business, Southwest Florida’s premier business publication, seeks an ambitious, deadline-driven general assignment reporter. The ideal candidate should understand the importance of local news and have the know-how to find it on deadline while providing clean copy that’s accurate, thorough and concise.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in Journalism, English or a relevant field of study preferred
  • Working knowledge of AP Style
  • Excellent research, reporting and writing skills
  • Ability to balance overlapping deadlines in a deadline-driven environment

 

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to manage multiple assignments on deadline; generate leads across a bevy of industries; cultivate and maintain a network of sources and engage with community leaders; follow city/county meeting agendas and identify pertinent news items; be forward thinking and work within a team setting.
