WINK News is seeking a dynamic and passionate Political Reporter to join our exceptional organization and cover the exciting and significant upcoming election season in Florida. We are looking for an individual who not only meets but exceeds high journalistic standards and possesses a deep interest in politics at the local, state, and national levels.
As the WINK News Political Reporter, your primary responsibility will be to engage in comprehensive research, develop compelling stories, and produce high-quality television and digital content. You will delve into the candidates, the issues at hand, and the potential impact on Southwest Floridians. We take pride in our commitment to journalistic excellence, which extends beyond television and encompasses our digital outlets and other media platforms.
To effectively cover the diverse political landscape, this role will require some travel, ensuring comprehensive coverage of politicians and the most pressing issues that resonate with our audience. As an exceptional candidate, you will have the opportunity to contribute to all of our company's media platforms, amplifying your impact and reach.
Reporting directly to the Digital News Director and Executive Producer of Special Projects and Investigations, the Political Reporter will play a pivotal role in our news team. We value collaboration, innovation, and dedication to delivering accurate and thought-provoking content to our audience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in political reporting, demonstrating a strong understanding of journalistic principles and ethics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex political issues in a clear and engaging manner.
- Strong research and investigative skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital tools, social media platforms, and content management systems to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
- Flexibility to travel and adapt to changing schedules as needed to cover political events and stories.
