Producer News & Lifestyle Program

WINK News is seeking an exceptional News & Lifestyle Producer to develop and produce a captivating daily one-hour program centered around Southwest Florida's News, weather, lifestyle, arts, culture, food, and entertainment scenes. As the producer of this program, you will have access to the extensive resources of the WINK News department, collaborating with the skilled editors of Gulfshore Life, Gulfshore Business, and The Naples Press. Our primary focus is on local content, and we are committed to delivering news that matters to our community, steering clear of movie handouts, junkets, and Hollywood gossip.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a proven track record of producing high-quality news, lifestyle, or similar programs. It is crucial that you have prior experience effectively managing a live program with numerous moving parts in a television control room. Positive leadership and people skills are paramount, along with an innate creativity, strong news judgment, exceptional writing abilities, and outstanding showcasing and production skills. Working closely with the Executive Producer, on-air talent, and Segment Producer/Booker, you will play a pivotal role in crafting an engaging on-air product that captivates our audience.

In addition to these qualifications, a deep appreciation for local news and weather is essential. As part of the WINK News department, you will join our dedicated Lifestyle team, contributing to the dynamic and comprehensive coverage we provide to our viewers.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in broadcast journalism or program production preferred.
  • Experience as a news or lifestyle producer.
  • High production and journalism standards.
  • Excellent control room live program management skills.
