SPORTS BEAT REPORTER
We're on the lookout for a Sports Beat Reporter (Sports Storyteller) to join our team. We want someone who is experienced, passionate, and knows how to craft compelling stories that will engage our audience. As a Sports Beat Reporter, you'll be responsible for covering hyper-local sports issues that have an impact on everyday life. Up-to-date knowledge of current sports, social impact of sports, news, and its impact on life beyond sports.
Among the responsibilities include covering local sporting events, profiling interesting sports figures (famous and not so famous), conducting interviews, writing articles, producing multimedia content, and creating sports themed social media posts. You'll also need to develop relationships with local sports organizations and individuals in the community, pitch story ideas, and generate new leads.
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in sports reporting. You should also have strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines and produce quality content. We also require a familiarity with multimedia tools and social media platforms, and a passion for sports and an understanding of their impact on the community.
As a Sports Beat Reporter, you'll be part of a team of reporters, photographers, and editors, and you may also need to report on news or breaking news stories. We value journalistic ethics and expect you to uphold these values in all your work.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse various terrains to cover stories and conduct interviews.
