BILINGUAL NEWS ANCHOR

We are looking for an enthusiastic Spanish speaking news anchor to join our innovative Noticias WINK team. As a news anchor, you will play a pivotal role in our creative news broadcast and work closely with our producer and Executive Producer.  You will also be responsible for gathering information and broadcasting a newscast daily. Ultimately, you should be able to follow current events and present news stories to audiences in an informative, interesting and unbiased way.

Responsibilities

• Research local community, state, national and international current events
• Meet with the news director, producer, E.P. and co-anchor to be briefed on the day’s news
• Collaborate with staff to choose stories to broadcast considering audience preferences

• Organize the news to present the most interesting pieces first
• Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air
• Ensure late-breaking news is added to newscasts
• Comply with the moral code of the journalistic profession
• Keep abreast of local news developments.
• Attend station sponsored or endorsed community events and make public appearances, as a representative of the station.

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience delivering news in Spanish as a news anchor and field reporter
• Understanding of the newscast process
• Broad knowledge of local, national and international affairs (e.g. political, economic, legislative and cultural)
• Ability to improvise in a live on-camera setting and excellent Spanish verbal skills. Native speaker preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Available to work on a flexible schedule and ability to work under stressful conditions and strict deadlines
• Active social media presence
• 4 Years of experience recommended but not required.
