Executive Producer News & Lifestyle Program

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of WINK News & Lifestyle Executive Producer. As the Executive Producer, you will lead the production of a dynamic one-hour daily program that focuses on lifestyle, arts, culture, food, and entertainment scenes in Southwest Florida. This program will also incorporate local news headlines and weather updates. Importantly, our program upholds the highest journalistic standards and follows the WINK News Standards & Practices. This is not a pay-to-play program.

In this role, you will have access to the extensive resources of the WINK News department, as well as the support and expertise of Gulfshore Life, Gulfshore Business, and The Naples Press. We are seeking a leader who is passionate about exploring the diverse range of topics that make Southwest Florida such a desirable place to live.

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in producing high-quality lifestyle or similar programs. You must exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills, a creative mindset, excellent news judgment, exceptional writing abilities, and a flair for showcasing and production. As the Executive Producer, you will oversee all aspects of creating the on-air product, including managing a team consisting of a Producer, a Segment/Booker Producer, and a group of talented on-air talent and contributors. It is vital that you can step in and produce the program when needed. A keen appreciation for news and weather is crucial.

The Lifestyle team will operate within the news department, and you will report directly to the Director of Local News & Content. As a top candidate, we expect you to conduct thorough research on WINK News, Gulfshore magazines, and The Naples Press. Following that, you will be responsible for creating a comprehensive program proposal for submission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production of a one-hour daily program focused on lifestyle, arts, culture, food, and entertainment scenes in Southwest Florida.
• Incorporate local news headlines and weather updates into the program while upholding the WINK News Standards & Practices.
• Utilize the resources of the WINK News department, Gulfshore Life, Gulfshore Business, and The Naples Press to develop engaging and informative content.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and people skills to manage a team of producers, on-air talent, and contributors.
• Exhibit creativity, exceptional news judgment, and superb writing skills to produce a high-quality program.
• Ensure seamless showcasing and production of the program.
• Be capable of stepping in and producing the program when necessary.
• Display a deep appreciation for news and weather.

• Previous experience producing a quality lifestyle or similar program.

• Strong appreciation for news and weather.

Qualifications:

• Degree in broadcast journalism or program production preferred.
• Experience as an Executive Producer or producer of news or lifestyle program.
• High production and journalism standards.
