Job Summary
- Reporting to the SVP of Finance for the Maintenance Segment, the Vice President, Divisional Finance serves as the finance leader for the Division and as a business partner to the Divisional President. The Vice President, Divisional Finance owns the financial management of a multi-hundred-million-dollar, multi-location, business unit with varying levels of scope and complexity, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial performance management, oversight of accounting & month-end close.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a business partner to the Divisional President and other functional and operational leaders in driving financial performance of the Division that meets or exceeds growth objectives.
- Responsible for leading all long-range strategic planning, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, month-end close activities and performance management activities within the Division.
- Leads all decision support, financial planning and analysis efforts for the Division including but not limited to: P&L management, KPI delivery, data accuracy and quality, internal audit, asset management, contract management, risk management, and new business opportunity assessment.
- Drives working capital management rigor (Accounts Receivable) as well as judicious deployment of capital for investments in the business.
- Collaborates with sales and operations on strategy & business planning for the Division.
- Adheres to all accounting standards and practices in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Drives adherence and utilization of all BrightView standard financial and operational management tools and processes within the Division and supports continuous improvement activities driven by Central Finance
- Partners with Central Finance team on ad hoc requests for Executive Leadership
- Leads a team of 5-7 direct reports.
- Manages workflow in a manner that the team can effectively balance priorities, provides backup support as needed and otherwise ensures that all work is accomplished with an appropriate sense of urgency and a high-level of quality.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance or Accounting
- MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience at a director or VP level leading the finance function, ideally in a matrixed environment of a geographically dispersed, multi-location business.
- Strong operational knowledge/experience gathering insights from data to perform strategy/risk assessment and pursue opportunities.
- Process-oriented with prior experience designing and executing processes, controls, and procedures.
- Proven success in partnering with executive leadership in key business decisions.
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams to drive strong operational and financial results.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, photocopier, and computer printer.
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time.
- Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time for leadership meetings and branch-based visits.
Work Environment:
- This role works in an indoor corporate office work environment.
- This role includes routinely traveling in a car with up to 20% travel
