Here’s what you’d do:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for PO creation, coordinating Purchase Order receipts, and ensuring that invoices are processed. They will also help resolve problems or questions relating to accounts payable in a timely manner. This role will oversee accounts payable for multiple branch locations.
You’d be responsible for:
- Review, create, and receive purchase orders
- Review invoices for correct vendor, remit address, invoice number and payment amount
- Reconcile discrepancies- research and resolve issues with invoices, purchase orders, or payments
- Reconcile Accounts Payable to vendor statements
- Maintain current documentation for subcontractors to include of insurance, business licenses, and contracts
- Contact branches and vendors to discuss issues, clarify information, and gather necessary documentation
- Respond promptly to emails from branches, vendors, and Corporate, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Supporting audits as needed including providing supporting documentation for audits
- Participate in accounts payable projects as directed to enhance departmental efficiency
- Provide backup support to other Accounts Payable team members as required, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Other functions that may be necessary to properly execute the Accounts Payable operations of the company.
- Other shared services related duties as required by the business.
You might be a good fit if you have:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in accounts payable
And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
- Accounts payable processing skills
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience producing error free and accurate work
- Strong work ethic
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of JD Edwards software a plus
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, photocopier, and computer printer
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time
