Here’s what you’d do:

BrightView Landscape Development and Design Group are looking to build upon our existing team capabilities with a Regional Business Specialist/Pre-qualifications and Licensing. You’d be responsible for:

  • In this role you will report to the Business Admin Manager and be responsible for responding to requests for prequalification for potential clients and General Contractors via Branch Managers and Business Developers who would like to consider BrightView as a subcontractor on their upcoming projects by researching/writing/compiling qualifications and non-technical proposal components. 
    • These requests come in a variety of formats, including: Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Adobe PDFs & fillable forms, and various online portals. 
    • The information requested varies and can include basic company information & history, financial data & strength, insurance verification, safety data, project and vendor references, etc. 
  • Working closely with the Business Admin Manager, Corporate Administrative staff, Business Developers, and Branch Managers nation-wide. 
  • Being mindful of deadlines for completion of assigned prequalification packages with several in progress simultaneously. 
  • Assembling and delivering prequalification packages while ensuring that the quality of each submittal is in line with company standards and policies. 
  • Assisting in maintaining and further developing resource materials during times of slower workload.
  • Demonstrating teamwork, initiative, and a strong work ethic. 
  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by in this role. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the discretion of the Business Admin Manger.

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
  • Experience in a Construction/Architectural/ Engineering firm is a plus!
  • Must be proficient in using a computer
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Internet Explorer) 
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel (sorting & filtering data, creating & verifying formulas, hiding columns/rows while maintaining relevancy, VLOOKUPs, formatting spreadsheets for presentation, etc.) 
    • Creating fillable forms and revising field properties in Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to swiftly navigate multiple files and folders on a large server
  • Capacity to memorize basic company facts spread over multiple topics, or quickly find an answer based on resource materials
  • Ability to interpret what information is relevant based on project type, geography, size, scope, etc.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles (how to read and interpret a financial statement)
  • Ability to write, incorporate and edit text from various sources and organize it into a cohesive document
  • Having an eye for continuous improvement and strategizing ways to become more efficient
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail (accomplishes a task thoroughly with concern for all aspects and focuses on the specifics), solid organizational skills (can establish priorities and a course of action for handling a heavy workload with multiple tasks overlapping priorities and deadlines), an aggressive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to work professionally and reliably under stress and time pressure
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Comfortable working in collaboration with a team of company personnel, Executives and Officers; continuously adjusting responsibilities based on input from others
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:

  • Proficient with computer software programs including Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • General knowledge and understanding of how to read architectural plans 
  • Ability to prioritize job duties and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of drought tolerant landscape is a plus
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong work ethic
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
